I'm a little disappointed, if this tracklist ends up being the setlist for the tour. I was hoping a 20th anniversary tour would be more inclusive of older songs from her past, but this is just a playlist of mostly overperformed tracks from the last 5 years. Although there are some songs here I adore (DITR, Ultraviolet, Eh Yo, WOML), I feel like some of them need a rest (we could go 10 years without another performance of Loaded, tbh). While I'm grateful a lot of her setlist filler songs are absent (KNT, Lady Go, PLC, MNH, Comes Up), it's disappointing that her 15th (and even 10th) anniversary tracklists had a wider range of songs from her career than her 20th. :/
Fingers crossed there are some bonuses in the live. At least the DVD has more interesting selections, though some of them are headscratchers (So Nice is picked as the top performance from Japonesque when Bling x3 + No Man's Land exists?? Out of all the songs on Dejavu she picked Melting??????)
I'm disappointed too :( This is her TWENTIETH anniversary. This is huge. I was eagerly awaiting the release of this, but... yeah, it's all music from 2014-- on, with a few exceptions. I feel like it's avex meddling, due to the fact that her sales have been on the decline since AND. Which is again avex's fault, since they haven't given her the budget to make as many PVs or physical singles. So I think avex is trying to get people re-interested in her recent releases...
I don't like it. It should be a celebration of her career. This doesn't feel like something Kuu would put together. For one thing, where's TAKE BACK? She always gives her proper dues to the debut single. And real Emotion? That was groundbreaking for her. CUTIE HONEY was also a career boost, and she's said she owes a lot to that cover for being where she is today. Ai no Uta is one of the best J-Pop love songs of the 2000s, and Moon Crying too. Where are they?
FANTASIA was very diverse, even THE ARTIST, which I wasn't that psyched about, contained pivotal and beloved music. 20th anniversary feels like Kumi sticking to rebranding herself and forgetting 2000-2014.
I also agree with sodium about the DVD, though I think it's almost all misses. Hurry Up! from TRICK was easily one of the best feats she's ever done at a live show, I can't even remember stay with me. And yeah, the drum performance of No Man's Land (so underrated a song btw) is burned into my memory. So Nice was a very dull start to that show, she couldn't even walk... And I think It's All Love! never gets the attention it deserves - her performance with misono at FANTASIA was insane fun.
Overall I think the FC lost out with this one. I'm nervous about the concert now, too, and I don't think I'll be attending the online show.
The tracklist is disappointed
The dvd content is disappointed
The photoshoot for the booklet is also disappointed..it doesn't feels like a 20th anniversary celebration album T.T
I am very disappointed, still the concert is amazing. Also I amd very happy that i got the exact same Jacket as KuuChan wearing the fourth part, it from Thai Designer Brand called GAME OVER, BANGKOK and it cost 90$. FINALLY!!! i felt closer to Kuu even i can't make it to concert.
